SYNOPSIS

Filmed over 8 years, Future People: The Family of Donor 5114 is a documentary that follows a group of adolescents who connect with one another when they learn they are all children of the same sperm donor. As they come of age, the search for their identity forms, while the mystery of their biological father deepens. A story that made the cover of NY Times Magazine is now a poignant film by Michael Rothman and Executive Produced by Jason Momoa.

Jason Momoa is the Executive Producer of Future People. He is an actor, producer and director. Momoa's passionate environmental advocacy served as an impetus for his launching Manunalu Pure Water in an effort to end the use of single use plastics. He is currently wrapping the second season of Apple Network's series "See" and shooting the sequel to the blockbuster hit "Aquaman."

Carlos David Rivera is the Editor of Future People. He is an Emmy Award winning producer and Emmy nominated editor. Carlos most recently co-edited the documentary film "Mucho Mucho Amor: The Legend of Walter Mercado," which premiered at Sundance Film Festival 2020.

Joel Shearer
Sound artist, composer and producer, Joel Shearer’s creative talent has been felt in the music industry for over 25 years. From Academy Award nominated film scores like “127 Hours” to multiplatinum selling records like Alanis Morrisette’s “Jagged Little Pill”, Shearer has recorded, toured or collaborated with Dido, Annie Lennox, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Joe Cocker, Damien Rice, Michael Buble, Sarah McLachlan and Sara Bareilles. Working remotely around the globe or out of his studio in Los Angeles, Shearer is constantly exploring creative ways to express himself through sound and music.
